Persons who have reached the normal retirement age and are still gainfully employed only continue to pay contributions to the AHV, IV and EO, but not to the unemployment insurance (ALV), once they have reached a certain exemption amount. BVG contributions are completely eliminated.
You do not have to pay social security contributions for smaller jobs. However, if you employ a senior citizen for a longer period of time or on a recurring basis, you may have to pay social security contributions.
